Our Story

LI Insurance Brokers is the product of two well established insurance agencies. The Wharton B Allen Agency of Farmingdale and the William J Hofmann Agency of Massapequa. Wharton B Allen Agency was established in 1943 by brothers Wharton B Allen and Ellsworth W Allen. The agency, located at 348 Main Street in Farmingdale, New York, was the hometown to the two brothers and has remained at this convenient Nassau/Suffolk border location for more than 75 years. The agency has been owned by the Allen family for the last 75 years.

The William J Hofmann Agency has served the Long Island and metro New York communities for almost 90 years as a family owned business formerly based in Massapequa. William J Hofmann was a member of one of the founding families of the Massapequa's at the turn of the century. The agency has been owned by the Keeney family since 1967.

The two agencies came together under the same roof in 2014 as LI Insurance Brokers. Together we boast more than 150 years of dedicated service and professionalism to our community. We have a formidable staff of seasoned insurance professionals and experienced service representatives. Knowledge and industry reputation lead to trust; we provide ourselves on our retention of satisfied clients and the close rapport that we have with them.

In 2018, we partnered with Acrisure LLC in an effort to provide our client base with more insurance choices in an ever-changing insurance marketplace. This will position and allow us to continue in to the next decades. Although we now have an agency partner, it does not mean that we have changed our attitude towards our clients. We are still the same competent, experienced agency our clients have been dealing with over the past years, only now we have greater access to industry products through Acrisure, a US insurance giant.
